Get to know me.
Life-giving part of your ministry:
I love being part of the moments where people fully engage the Gospel in their lives, and it moves them forward in their faith journey.
My passion ignites when I witness individuals, especially teams of people, fully engage their gifts and skills to reach a shared goal of being an active part of God’s kingdom advancing into the community.
Education:
Bachelor of Arts in Student Ministry (Minor in Worship and Sports Ministry): Briercrest Bible College – Caronport, SK. Canada
Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership: Bethel Seminary – St. Paul, MN
Recent God at work in me moment:
I love lists and how they help me accomplish tasks. And yet, many things in life don't work out according to my plan, God's timing being at the top of that list. I'm learning to continually trust that the rate of growth in me, in others, and in our church is better at God's pace than mine. I'm on a learning curve of trusting that God's best is best in His timing, not mine.
Failure you learned from:
We recently had to buy a new-to-us car at the last minute due to an accident. We rushed the process and ended up with something we didn't thoroughly vet, and we started noticing the issues after we had already taken ownership of it. I've learned that I need to slow down on some decisions and be willing to ask for help from those who have expertise in areas where I don't. Lesson learned!
Family:
Wife: April (married in 1999)
Kids: Jerusha (2004), Naomi (2007), Elijah (2010)
Most common food choice:
Pepperoni Pizza (little peps)
